ABOUT

I was born in the former Yugoslavia, in a region now called Bosnia and Herzegovina in the city of Mostar. We left right after the war started but it has had an indirect yet profound impact on my life and motivations, and the way I see things. I lived in Germany for seven years as a child, and after that we moved to America which is my current home.

As a young person, having to pick up my life abruptly and being placed in new environments left it difficult to verbally communicate, but it opened up a door that has brought me to this place in my life. I learned to use visual communication, to understand the people and the world around me by studying their expressions, by reading context.

I experimented with several forms of artwork very early on, from drawing and painting, to writing and photography. I like to say that I am a great technical portrait artist, and that at heart I am a poet and storyteller, but through the realm of cinematography I have found the best of every world. It is everything I love: emotion, color, light, people, settings, mood, and most of all, storytelling.

I would never change the life story I have had thus far, because of it I have learned to value every aspect of being from beauty to tragedy and it has led to a greater understanding of everything around me. I cannot thank my mother and father enough for their undying sacrifices and wisdom, it is because of them that I have become the person I am today. The war may not have affected me directly in the ways it did others, but it taught me that truth, emotion and meaning is what I want to share with the world through my work in the image.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my site and learn about my story, I hope you can leave to live life to the fullest each moment it comes.
